I work with Baby Boomers who want to feel revitalized, people with neck and back pain and also those with Parkinson’s Disease or Multiple Sclerosis.  Here’s what many of them have had to say, and how working with me could help you too.

I was very happy and grateful to put myself in Beth’s hands. I think one of the most important things Beth has given me is the knowledge that I can make myself feel better by changing how I move. It is such a simple but profound concept and I can’t adequately describe the pure joy I felt the first time I walked in a way Beth had suggested and the pain in my pelvis went away. No shots, no special exercises, I just did it with a different emphasis in the way I walked. I am the kind of person who likes things simple, without a lot of accessories or complicated devices and from Beth I learned and am continually learning about that through Feldenkrais. Another wonderful thing that happened was when my Plantar Fasciitis returned, I didn’t freak out, I used a little ice and instead of staying off it, I walked the way Beth had taught me and after 3 days it felt better! The doctor had suggested I rest it, but Beth taught me to walk differently and I can’t adequately express the joy and freedom I felt when I knew I could walk and it would be okay; walking, taking a walk, is very important to me, so staying off of it for that period of time a few years ago made me feel confined whereas now I feel that sense of freedom that I can do what I want.

It’s not just Feldenkrais, Beth is an excellent practitioner, she’s kind, direct, focused and very knowledgeable, and she’s always working to help me figure out how to solve problems, as well as emphasizing my trying things on my own, how to be more aware of my own body so I can figure out on my own what to do

I came to Feldenkrais, and to Beth, after a lifetime of chronic back pain and a lifetime of searching: yoga, weight lifting, chiropractic, etc. – you name it, I did it. The pain always came back, and I lived a life of anxiety. Would I be able to travel next year? Would I even be able to lift my groceries tomorrow? Due to Feldenkrais, I now know that, yes, I will travel next year! Yes, I will lift my groceries! To be sure, Feldenkrais didn’t cure me. Beth first helped me build a toolkit of gentle movements, tailored to me, that I can use to relieve pain. Then, she helped me explore completely new movement patterns that rewired my body/brain connection so that pain doesn’t arise to begin with. I go for months without even a twinge of pain; if it does come up, I’m not afraid. I know how to relieve it. I feel grateful to Beth for freeing me from this chronic pain and from the accompanying anxiety. My life is so different now!

Be able to do the things you really enjoy

What I’m after isn’t flexible bodies, but flexible brains.”

– Moshe Feldenkrais –

I have been suffering from fibromyalgia for 12 years and until I went to Beth Rubenstein I could not find anyone who could help me deal with my pain.

By doing Feldenkrais with Beth I have become much more aware of my own body and learned ways in which I can move to avoid or alleviate my pain. I know if I have a “flare ” that I can go to Beth and get relief. I can also do movements at home which help me.”

Beth has the gift of working gently “with” me, as opposed to trying to force my body to do things which make me feel worse. She is a perceptive and extremely competent practitioner and I feel lucky to have found her.”

– Lynn Bragg –

Beth is an incredible healer. She has really helped my back and I have no more pain down my legs! The Feldenkrais method seems so weird at first because it is so gentle, but boy it works!”

– Amy Brunell –

Last Friday, I pulled a groin muscle…the sharp stabbing pain was debilitating and prevented me from walking or standing for any length of time. Beth treated me for an hour and gave me some gentle movements to use on my own. I rested that night and awoke the next day with almost NO PAIN and FULL MOBILITY! Wow! Magic? I think not. A Gifted Healer? I think so! Thanks, Beth!! I am so grateful!”

– Mary Mallon Pavlica –

Beth worked on me throughout my pregnancy and I was the only pregnant woman I knew who was not in pain.”

– Anne Milder –

Beth, you are a miracle worker. After limping around for days, unable to put any weight on my heel due to the pain, 45 minutes with you and I have been walking normally ever since. I even went to spin this morning, and the computer said I had an average day. Yay!”

– Audrey Brichetto Morris –

Beth was the only one that could help me when my back went out!! She is a true healer (of course, the Feldenkrais method isn’t too shabby either).”

– Barbara Fowler –

The aim [of the Feldenkrais Method] is a person that is organized to move with minimum effort and maximum efficiency, not through muscular strength, but through increased consciousness of how movement works.”
